Steps
- Close your books for the month and run a final trial balance in QuickBooks.
- Start a Xero trial and use Xero's QuickBooks Online conversion tool from the onboarding screen.
- Review the converted chart of accounts, contacts and open invoices.
- Reconnect bank feeds in Xero and set a conversion date.
- Keep QuickBooks read-only for at least one tax season.
Watch out for
- Payroll doesn't convert
- Reconcile the first month carefully
